Jamie Mok

Hi, I’m Jamie! I appreciate you stopping by. I’m a registered dietitian nutritionist “RDN”, yoga teacher, and lover of all things that keep us well and connected. I’m here to excite you about health, simplify evidence-based nutrition advice, turn you onto yoga, and help you find your unique flow to a healthier, mindful life that’ll last for the long haul. I stand behind good nutrition, mindful movement and self-care to nurture physical and mental health, as I truly believe we are more likely to fulfill responsibilities, achieve goals and live our best life when we are well.

It all began at Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo where I earned a bachelors degree in nutrition science. Upon completion of a dietetic internship at Cal State University, Long Beach, I furthered my studies at Teachers College, Columbia University in New York City where I graduated with a masters degree in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology. Midway through my college career, I fell deeply in love with yoga. A dedicated student for several years, my thirst for knowledge and a deeper practice led me to complete a 200-hour yoga teacher training at Purple Yoga in Long Beach, where I currently teach classes weekly.

I practice nutrition therapy full-time at Memorial Care Long Beach Medical Center caring for patients fighting a wide range of conditions such as cancer, gastrointestinal diseases, traumatic injuries, complicated surgeries and chronic illnesses. As the hospital’s dietetic internship coordinator, I oversee the internship program, mentor interns year-round and maintain relationships with accredited nutrition programs. Outside the hospital, I’m a nutrition coach for the mobile app Rise, supporting clients daily towards their personal health goals. In the “between time”, you can find me on my yoga mat, in the kitchen whipping up something fresh while snapping photos for my Instagram feed @the_yogini_rd, or exploring local restaurants and the food scene one bite at a time.
