300-Hour Teacher Training

Our mission is to continue to help you develop your yoga knowledge and education, further progress your skills as a yoga teacher, and build a sustainable lifestyle as a yoga educator.

Our a la carte style training has customizable training modules and one core course requirement for the full 300-hour certification

We believe that every teacher has a special quality and wisdom about the yoga practice and we will guide you through your journey with more personal autonomy. The direction for how you evolve and advance as a yoga teacher is up to you.

You can take any of the modules without prerequisites or other requirements and customize your training based on your interest and curiosity, with only one required module as well as a retreat to complete your training.

The one required module, the mentorship module, will develop teaching skillsets, business and lifestyle practices that are at the core of being a lifelong yoga teacher. These are highly personalized sessions that you will play, devise, create and analyze based on your teaching path.

This training is a commitment to your instructional prowess and helping to refine your abilities as a yoga teacher.

Not interested in completing the full 300-hour certification but still would like to take a module or more? Great! You can take as many or as few modules as you desire without any commitment.

Upcoming 300-Hour Training Program

How the 300 hour Program Works

BEGINNING IN JANUARY 2024

This is a self-paced training that will take at minimum 2 years to complete. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is an advanced certification. It takes time to implement the ideologies, theories and practices into your teaching and lifestyle. There is no fast-track to your learning as there is no fast-track to your practice.

Mentorship Module

Meeting (3hrs) every month with group of your peers and a lead mentor and guest speakers.

These are lecture/discussion/activity sessions that meet in person and are designed to build the teaching acumen, business practices and skills necessary to further your teaching careers.

Topics include:

  • Becoming an Effective Yoga Teacher

  • Scheduling, Burnout

  • Your Personal Practice

  • Building your Brand, Website, Social Media Presence

  • Teaching Results-based Private Yoga Sessions

  • Teaching Successful Workshops and Series

  • Leading Retreats

  • Corporate/Workplace Yoga

Continuing Education Modules

Each module will be offered 1-3x per year and are not required to be taken in any specific order.

Create the path of your education to better meet your interests.

Upcoming CE Courses Include:

Other topics to be covered:

  • Advanced Pranayama Series

  • Next Level Meditation Series

  • Advanced Sequencing

  • Yoga for kids

  • Yoga for Athletes

  • Yoga for Beginners

Retreats

One retreat per year will be offered for the advancement of the yoga teacher. Why? Well, because you have to fill your cup to be able to offer something of substance to others. Open to those not enrolled in Mentorship Module but co-enrollment is highly recommended.

  • 3 Day, 2 night retreat

  • 4 Day, 3 night retreat

Non-Contact Hours

These are a combination of reading, videos observed, or webinars practiced. This can also be any workshop/class/training with non-Purple Yoga Faculty.

A list of suggested reading materials will be provided with Mentorship Module enrollment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cost?

Each module will have its own cost associated with the amount of hours. The average certification will be $4000 - $5500 depending on the trainings, retreats, modules selected. As this is an a la carte instruction, each module, workshop or retreat will incur its own cost independently, a kind of pay-as-you-go.

What are the qualifications?

While there are no specific qualifications (you won’t need to apply or audition to enroll), you will need to have your 200-hour certification or equivalent. We suggest that you have some experience with teaching also but it is not an absolute. The real experience of teaching invites more questions in the learning environment.

What is required for certification?

To complete the program, you will need to complete a minimum of 270 hours coming from the Mentorship Module and Retreat and the appropriate amount of Continuing Education Modules.  The remaining 30 hours can be non-contact hours.

  • Mentorship Module (36hrs-72hrs)

  • Continuing Education Modules (130hrs min)

  • Retreat (30hrs - 70hrs)

  • Non-Contact (30hrs max)

Do I need to have completed Purple Yoga’s 200hr training to enroll in the 300hr training?

We will accept all 200hr trainings for enrollment in the Mentorship Module. We will include a bridge session in our first Mentorship Module that describes the Fundamentals of Teaching Yoga from the perspective of Purple Yoga. All styles of yoga teaching and trainings will be accepted.

Are you Yoga Alliance approved?

No, we are opting out of registration as a school with Yoga Alliance, however, we have designed the coursework to include similar structure to Yoga Alliance and have Experienced ERYT500 and ERYT 200 on staff.

Can I receive CEUs (continuing education units) for participating in any of these workshops, trainings and/or modules?

The workshop, training or module will have to be led by staff who has those credentials or is a YACEP. These will be listed on the workshop.

Do I have to enroll in the Mentorship Module to take the workshops or trainings?

No, you are welcome to take the workshops and attend the retreat regardless of your enrollment in the mentorship module. Enrollment in the Mentorship Module is necessary if you are seeking the 300hr certification though.

Can I sign up for the mentorship module after completing some the CEUs with Purple Yoga?

Yes, you can enroll whenever you have decided that the certification is your objective. We will accept applicable CEUs earned starting January 2024 to count toward the full certification.

Do I need to be currently teaching to enroll in the mentorship module?

No, but it is advised that you have some basic experience teaching yoga to benefit most from the program. If you have any questions relating to this, please email us at samantha@purpleyoga.org

Can you take the Mentorship Module multiple times?

Yes, you are most definitely welcome to take the mentorship module as many times as you wish. There are no more than 72 hours or about 2 years that can be counted toward the certification.

What if I miss a session from the Mentorship Module?

You will either be able to take the session the next time it is offered the following year or you can schedule a private session with the faculty for the hours you missed.
