Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be an experienced yoga student to attend teacher training?

No, not at all! Our Teacher Training program is open to all regardless of prior yoga experience and is designed to deepen your knowledge and experience of yoga for those who desire to teach as well as those just looking to gain in-depth knowledge of yoga from experienced and knowledgeable instructors. By the time you graduate from the program, you will be much more experienced.

Do I have to apply to be a part of the program?

No. We only require at the minimum the $325 non-refundable deposit at the time of registration.

When is the full tuition due?

Full payment is required before the date that Teacher Training begins. Payment plans available.

How do I complete all 200 hours required for certification?

The hours of the scheduled sessions completes the “direct contact” hours. The additional hours to complete the 200 hour requirement are met by attending a required number of yoga classes during the weeks of Teacher Training, observing a required number of yoga classes, and completing post-Teacher Training requirements which include teaching a required number of classes.

What happens if I miss any of the scheduled sessions?

In order to satisfy the requirements of the “direct contact” hours with our Teaching Training faculty you may complete the missed sessions in one of these ways.

  • After Teacher Training is finished you may schedule a “private” session with a faculty member to review the material that was missed. This “private” session will be charged at the current Private Session studio rate of the studio and will need to be paid prior to the session being scheduled. If other students missed the same session and material you may combine together to schedule a shared session at the studio’s shared private session rate; or

  • You can sit in for the session(s) you missed when it is scheduled at the next Teacher Training session at no additional cost.

If I complete Purple Yoga’s Teacher Training program can I become a teacher at Purple Yoga?

Purple Yoga will audition for teaching positions at the time we anticipate adding additional faculty to our teaching staff.  We encourage all who complete our program, and have a desire to begin teaching yoga, to seek out all the opportunities to teach that exist in the communities where you live; i.e. community centers, health and wellness facilities, gyms and fitness centers, and other yoga studios.
